Understand[edit]

Get in[edit]

Central Portugal lies between the country's two most important urban areas, centred around Lisbon and Porto, and thus benefits from the transit connections between them. In particular, frequent long-distance services Alfa Pendular and Intercidades call at Coimbra, from where you can continue to other locations in the Centro.

This strategic position, coupled with relatively small population, did not necessitate for Centro to have its own airport. One can use ones in either Lisbon in Porto, who both have excellent international connections, and take a bus or train from there. There is a small aerodrome near Coimbra though for private pilots.

This region travel guide to Central Portugal is an outline and may need more content. It has a template, but there is not enough information present. If there are Cities and Other destinations listed, they may not all be at usable status or there may not be a valid regional structure and a "Get in" section describing all of the typical ways to get here. Please plunge forward and help it grow!
