El Monte is a city in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles in Southern California.

By car[edit]

El Monte is located between I-10 (to the south) and I-210 (to the north), and I-605 (to the east).

By bus[edit]

El Monte has a major bus terminal hub for Greyhound and Los Angeles Metro.

By plane[edit]

  • For commercial passengers, the closest major airports are in Burbank (BUR IATA) 30 mi (48 km) northwest, and Ontario (ONT IATA), 30 mi (48 km) east.
  • San Gabriel Airport (EMT IATA) is a popular destination for general aviation private pilots. While it is a controlled field, it has fairly low traffic for an LA metro field.
