Eldoret is 323 km from Nairobi, 114 km from Kisumu, and 126 km from Nakuru. From Eldoret to the Uganda border at Malaba is 127 km.

Easy Coach has buses to Nairobi. There are also bus lines which go from Eldoret to Kampala, Uganda. There are matutus, privately owned vehicles frequently mini-buses, to Nakuru, Nyahururu, Kitale, and Kisumu. An 11-seat van from Eldoret to Nairobi costs Ksh 800 and takes 6 hours. An 11-seat van from Eldoret to Malaba on the Kenya/Uganda border costs Ksh 400 and takes 3 hours.

The railway network in Western Kenya is under rehabilitation and passenger trains from Nairobi are expected to return in late 2021 or early 2022. Travel times are expected to be quite long as the 100 year old network meanders through the landscape.
