Gerenzano is a town in the Italian province of Varese, in Lombardy. It's not on the main tourist map and there are no real attractions in town, but there's a hotel and it can serve as a base just outside chaotic Milan. It might also be convenient as a first night stop when arriving at Malpensa and Linate airports, which are only a 20 and 35 minutes drive, respectively.
- Hotel Concorde, via Clerici 97/a, ☏ , fax: , email@example.com. This is the hotel in town, and while it's a bit run down and mostly aims at business travelers, breakfast until noon and checkout until 1pm make for lazy mornings. There's room service at all hours. From €59.
Milan is the obvious next stop.
