Grantsville (Utah) is a small city located in Western Utah west of Tooele and south of the Great Salt Lake.

Climate[edit]

Grantsville's climate is similar to other Utah cities located in the valleys of northern Utah surrounding the Great Salt Lake. Summers can be hot and dry while winters are cold. It is not unusual for snow to cover the valley floor during the winter months.

Get in[edit]

Grantsville sits off Interstate 80 to the south. The area can be accessed from I-80 from two exchanges. From the east, take UT 36 at exit 99 then turn onto UT 138. From the west, take exit 84 onto UT 138. Grantsville can also be reached from the south by using UT 112.

Get around[edit]

Grantsville is a small town and does not have a public transit system for getting around the town. A car is needed to travel to most places, although the city is small enough that one can also reach most locations by walking.

The Utah Transit Authority operates a daily shuttle bus between Grantsville and Salt Lake City, weekdays only (Route 454).

Utah Motorsports Campus hosts racing events on some of the best racing tracks in Utah, both oval track and drag racing. In addition, there are other activities available, such as go-kart racing, a fun depot that hosts archery tag, nerf gun wars and dodge ball activities, and minimoto racing. The complex has 500 RV camping slots available, some with electrical hookups, and some tent camping locations, as well. Heading east, you can visit Salt Lake City or branch north or south along Interstate 15 to enjoy all the year-round activities available along the Wasatch Front, from hiking and biking to camping, skiing, water sports, fishing, hunting and more.

To the south you can drive along UT 6 and dive into the vast western desert of Utah to go camping, horseback riding, off-highway vehicle scrambling on sand dunes and geode hunting.

To the west you can drive an hour and a half to enjoy Las Vegas-style gambling casinos just across the state line in Wendover, Nevada.

And to the north, the vast richness of the Great Salt Lake awaits, from wildlife watching to beach walking, boating and sailing.
