Maithili Is the language of northern Bihar. It is spoken in places like Madhubani, Darbhanga, Sitamadhi, Supoul and Purniya and some adjoining districts. It is spoken in the Terai region of Nepal. Vidyapati was a famous Maithili poet. Maithili is one of the 22 scheduled languages of India. It is also one of the most spoken languages of India and second most spoken language of Nepal.
