[edit]Nsit Ibom is a Nigerian local government area in central Akwa Ibom State, sharing borders with the local government areas of Ibesikpo Asutan, Etinan, Nsit Ubium, and Uyo. The Ibibio ethnic group is represented in Nsit Ibom.
According to the 2006 National Census, Nsit Ibom has a male population of 57,750 and a female population of 50,861, for a total population of 108,611.
In September of 1991, the current Nsit Ibom Local Government Area was formed, leaving Nsit Ubium with its two clans — Nsit and Ubium — and 65 recognized villages, as well as some unidentified settlements.
