Pest county is in Central Hungary. It surrounds the national capital Budapest, but does not include it. About 2/3 of the county's population of 1.3 million (2018) live in the suburbs of Budapest.

Famous for the Wildlife Park. Other sights are the Arboretum, Heritage Museum, Pilgrimage Church of Makkosmária, Hungarian National Anthem Statue, Giant Sequoias.
  6 Törökbálint (Diósd)
Sights include Local History Collection, Walla Mansion, Observation Tower on Anna Hill. In Diósd: Radio and Television Museum, Heritage House, Beehive Stones.
  7 Biatorbágy
Sights include the historical Railway Viaduct, Swabian Heritage Museum, Sándor-Metternich Mansion, Bolha Hill. Wine Cellars and Observation Tower in Páty.
  8 Ráckeve
The oldest Serbian Orthodox Church in Hungary and Savoyai Palace Hotel.
  9 Zsámbék
Famous for the ruins of medieval Premontre Monastery and Church. Other sights are the Lamp Museum, Heritage Museum, Convent Garden, Turkish Well, Baroque Church, Zichy Mansion, Cellar Area. In the surroundings: Granary and Gothic-sytle chapel in Budajenő, Local History Exhibition in Perbál, Lake Garancs in Perbál, Church Ruins and Heritage House in Tök.

In the early 20th-century town hall of Abony

  • 4 Dánszentmiklós (take a bus from Cegléd (30 km)). Wekerle Farm or Estate and the village of Dánszentmiklós were settled in the times of the Kingdom of Árpád due to their excellent location and the presence of a nearby lake. The settlement probably owes its name to a landowner named "Dán". In the 18th and 19th centuries, the estate was owned by the Beleznay family.   • 9 Kocsér (Middle Age name: Kötsér, German: Kolter) (10 km east-southeast of Nagykőrös, 13 km northwest of Tiszakécske, buses from Cegléd or Kecskemét). Kocsér is a village in the north-eastern to ridge of the Danube-Tisza. Sights: Saline pasture, nature protection area, plant and animal species. Part of the Hungarian steppes area ('puszta'), evolved as a result of grazing in the past centuries.   • 10 Mogyoród (18 km northeast of the limit of Budapest in Pest county, take the HÉV suburban train from Örs Vezér tér). Sights: Hungaroring, a motor-racing circuit in Mogyoród where the Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix is held. To Do: Aquarena, the largest waterpark in Hungary.
  • 11 Monor (first go to Budapest and from there by bus or train. If you have a car M3 motorway to M0 motorway further to M4). Reformed church, Ócsa
  • 12 Ócsa (SE 10 km from Budapest city limit).   • 18 Szigetbecse (German:Wetsch) (Three km south of Ráckeve). -Catholic and Protestant Cemetery, is a Monument. There are beautiful, well-kept graves.
