The Restonica Valley is in Upper Corsica.

Understand

The Restonica-Valley is going up from Corte in the middle of Corsica to the mountains. The road through the valley is 15 km long and the difference of altitude is about 1000 m.

At the end of the valley, at a height of 1370 m, you will find the Bergerie de Grotelle.

The road to the valley starts in the south of Corte, in the high season it will be regulated, so you might to take a walk from further down.

  • Lac de Melu. This is a lake close to Corte. At an elevation of 1,710 metres (5,610 ft), its surface area is 0.065 square kilometres (0.025 sq mi). The lake is the source of the Restonica River.
  • Lac de Capitellu. At an elevation of 1930 m, its surface area is 0.055 km². It is close the Lac de Melu, in the commune of Corte.

The valley is famous for hiking and cooling down in the summer months.
