By car

Rexburg is about 250 miles north of Salt Lake City, 300 miles east of Boise, and 80 miles west of Jackson Hole. To drive to Rexburg from Salt Lake City take the I-15 north through Pocatello to Idaho Falls. Take exit 119 for the US-20. Drive 25 miles and take exit 333 for Main Street, Rexburg.

By bus

Salt Lake Express offers intercity bus service.

Get around

Basically you can walk everywhere in Rexburg fairly quickly. If you need a car because it's cold outside, enterprise car rentals has cars around campus called WeCar. You can hop in one and for a small fee you can drive wherever you want. There's always bikes laying around if you prefer to get some exercise.

See

  • BYU-Idaho campus: a university run by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS).
  • Construction of Idaho's third LDS temple began in Rexburg in 2004, and was completed in 2007. It was dedicated by President Thomas S. Monson on 10 February 2008. The temple dedication was postponed from its original date because of President Gordon B. Hinkley's death.

Do

There's lots of stuff to do in America's Family community. There's lots of parks to play in. There's Rexburg Rapids, Rexburg's water park complete with two water slides and a lazy pool. There's Bear World, where you can pet baby bears and other animals and also drive around the park and see all kinds of animals including, bear, moose, and buffalo (really bison.) In the winter Rexburg also has a snowboard park with cable system.

You can always go to campus and learn some chemistry or something if you want.

Buy

We got your Walmart, Albertsons, locally owned and overpriced Broulims, and all kinds of dollar stores.

Eat

There are all the usual fast food joints, including 4 Subways. There's also a Chinese place, Gator Jack's (which is a sandwich shop.) There's all kinds of yummy stuff here. Oh and Applebees.

Drink

The serving of hard liquors has been prohibited since 1947, and the predominantly LDS culture has left the city with no nightclubs, bars, or coffee shops. Restrictions on sales of alcohol have recently been eased as the city has grown, and it is now possible to purchase beer and wine at some restaurants (Applebees which is outside city limits). But you can purchase alcohol in stores or always make some moonshine!

Sleep

Super 8, Quality Inn, and nicer places like AmericInn and Marriott.
