Salas is a city in Asturias, Spain. It has 5,000 inhabitants (2018) and lies on the Original Way of St. James (Camino Primitivo).

Coming from Oviedo on the Camino Primitivo, Salas is the third town with ATMs and a somewhat bigger grocery store after Grado and Cornellana.

Get in

ALSA stops here coming from Oviedo.

From the Asturias airport it's usually the best to take a non-stop ALSA bus to Oviedo and then an ALSA bus to Salas.

Get around

The town can be easily explored on foot.

Cornellana has some ATMs. The ATM of Unicaja Banco does not charge a fee for withdrawing money with an international credit card.

The biggest grocery stores are Alimerka and Día. A smaller one is La Tienda de Jose. All of them have savory fresh baked goods.

Pilgrims can sleep in the municipal albergue, which is open all year round. There are other hostels. Some of those are only open April to October.
