Shiping County has a subtropical monsoon climate, characterized by mild weather and distinct seasons, with an average annual temperature of about 17°C. Winters are mild, and summers are not excessively hot. The county receives abundant rainfall, with an annual precipitation ranging from 800 to 1200 mm, mostly occurring during the rainy season from May to October. Shiping also enjoys plenty of sunshine, with approximately 2,200 hours of sunlight annually, making it ideal for crop cultivation. With a moderate elevation (around 1,300 to 1,800 meters), the climate is highly suitable for growing rice, fruits, and other economic crops, as well as for serving as a popular destination for summer retreats and eco-tourism.

2 West Bus Stations (西部客运站).3 South Bus Stations (南部客运站).There are long-distance buses from Kunming and other major cities to Shiping County. You can find buses to Shiping at the South and West Bus Stations in Kunming. The bus ride usually takes 3 to 4 hours, depending on traffic conditions.

4 Mengzi Railway Station (蒙自汽车站).Shiping does not have a direct train station. The nearest train station is in Mengzi City, at Mengzi Railway Station. From Kunming, you can take a train to Mengzi, which takes about 3 to 4 hours. Once in Mengzi, you can take a bus or taxi to Shiping, which takes about 1 hour.
