Sylhet Division is one of seven divisions in Bangladesh.

During the Pakistan period, Sylhet Division was a district under the same name and was part of Chittagong Division then as one of four divisions of East Pakistan.


Bengali is the most widely spoken language, although many people speak English in the larger towns and cities. Sylheti is a related, but distinct language from Bengali and is also widely spoken in the Sylhet Division.
