Wrong info! Sipiso-piso Falls and Lake Toba (Tongging) is far from Berastagi. It takes approx. 2 hours to get to Lake Toba (Tongging) and Sipiso-piso Falls. 125.165.36.87 10:33, 14 September 2010 (EDT)

I have moved Sipiso-piso and Tongging reference to Lake Toba article. More appropriate over there. The price and transport reference seems need checking as I don't think the price is acceptable as of now. --Sylphar (talk) 03:52, 28 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Ice juice and other things from the 1970s

[edit]

Way back in 1976, my parents and I had the best ice juice we had in Indonesia in Berastagi, or maybe it was Kabanjahe. Either way, it was chocolate/avocado ice juice. Is ice juice still a thing in Indonesia, and is Berastagi a particularly good place to get it?

Unrelated: Berastagi is the only placed where we faced open hostility for being white people. We spoke fluent Malay, too, which undoubtedly helped us really greatly in most places in Indonesia that we visited (they said we spoke "Bahasa Dusun" - village language - and that was pretty accurate!) but some teenagers threw pieces of hard dirt like rocks at my mother, calling us "Belanda" (Dutch). We said we were not Belanda but orang Amerika, and they continued throwing. It's a long time ago; is Berastagi friendly to white people now? Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:24, 27 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
