Comments[edit]

Any concerns with renaming this page to make it consistent with the dynamic map being used for the Island Peak Trek? The spelling used there is Chhukhung. Additionally, this is a page that could possibly be deleted. Too little reason to include information about this small village. Dave.mcc (talk) 04:44, 11 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

None with the re-name/move over a re-direct.
Personally I agree with the deletion, but I think our usual practice is to re-direct real places rather than delete them outright... --118.93nzp (talk) 05:01, 11 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, practice is to re-direct, although I did myself get into trouble for redirecting to Region level articles. Apparently it is better to redirect to the closest town. This is problematic since remote towns (such as this one) may not naturally belong to a bigger town 50km away. Andrewssi2 (talk) 05:13, 11 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately User:Saqib has now reversed the move/renaming with the edit comment of "moved page Chhukhung to Chukhung over redirect ‎(but more reliable WP spelling is "Chukhung" please discuss first before renaming)", presumably in ignorance of both this and the discussion at Talk:Island_Peak_Trek#Comments... --118.93nzp (talk) 00:23, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops! I haven't noticed this discussion. --Saqib (talk) 11:07, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
