Strong wording on accommodation and hindu sites[edit]

My recent edit to this page contains frank warnings about an accommodation ban affecting tourists in Chitrakoot (Dham). Not only have I experienced this personally but I have confirmed on the ground with several locals "I want to take you as a guest but I'm not allowed", and with other travelers who confirm my experience. I have been unable to confirm the exact nature of the ban with officials and they appear unwilling to discuss it or return my emails.

I have also added mention about Hindu priests who will attempt to extort or bully tourists and pilgrims into making donations. Donations I attempted to make were rejected for being too small (a hundred rupees were demanded several times) and this seems to be the case for Indian tourists as well, many priests insisted donating was "mandatory" at many points but most people ignored them. My comments may offend some readers/editors and while I apologize, this information is accurate and "In the best interests of the traveler" that it is included.

I would also appreciate it if subsequent travelers included prices to the hotel list, while I added the best two I could find I did not have time to research further.

Much appreciated. Perhaps a cautionbox is warranted. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:29, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
