Merger
[edit]The Costa Norte articles have been broken down by what appears to me to be a mostly rigid adherence to the administrative division of the region, i.e. by department. The result is that there the departmental articles that have only one or two city level articles in them.
- Bolívar (department) two cities
- Atlántico, Córdoba (Colombia), Sucre (department) - one city each
Wikivoyage:Geographical hierarchy says:
- "Importantly, we only add a level of regions when there is too much content in the existing breakdown. As a result, the regional hierarchy at Wikivoyage doesn't always follow the official breakdown — and frequently is much "flatter" than the official political or administrative breakdown."
I propose to merge these four department articles into a Western Costa Norte article which would make navigation easier for travellers, while continuing to indicate the departments in the larger article. The other two departments in the Costa Norte region (La Guajira, Magdalena Department) have enough articles linked to be worth keeping separate. Any objections?
