[edit]“ | God would send his beloved servants to Knidos to get well and live longer. | ” |
—a popular local quote, attributed arguably to Greek geographer Strabo (63 BC–24 CE). |
Does anyone know where the original quote comes from? It seems unlikely that this is a correct translation, as the Greeks at the time were polytheistic, so we're left with the question of which god exactly is being referred to? -- Beland (talk) 06:15, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
- Does that matter really? It's so popular that (a Google search on "Knidos God would send" or similar variations turn out many results) I think it doesn't matter if Strabo hadn't even mumbled a word on it. Besides, it is (was) already clear that the quote is arguably attributed to Strabo. Making it Gods and be done with it is the way to go, IMO. Vidimian (talk) 18:40, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
