Measurements

[edit]

The BVI nominally uses metric, but since local equipment tends to be U.S. manufactured and thus locally provided depth gauges read in feet, I suggest that for the purposes of this article only we make an reasoned exception to Project:Measurements and leave depth measurements in feet (with metric in parentheses). However, I'll leave it up to someone else to do the metric conversions (maybe someone with metric equipment). -- Alvanson (talk) 03:07, 24 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

References

[edit]

Per Project:External links, secondary sources should not be linked in the main article. Rather than blowing them away, I've swept references from the main article here:

  • "In qualitative terms, the standard of diving is generally quite good, although it is not as good as the premier Caribbean diving destinations (such as Bonaire, Little Cayman, Saba and Turks and Caicos), but by most counts it is not too far behind."
  • "There have been instances of extremely zealous enforcement of penalties for fishing without licences involving up to 5 figure fines, including one infamous case in 2007 where a U.S. citizen who was unable to pay his fine was imprisoned (he was later released), ..."
