Buy: Pacific Fair is the largest shopping mall in the Southern hemisphere. This _can't_ be true. It is big, but fairly average for a 'big' mall. There are LOTS of comparable, and several larger, shoppings around. Especially when it says "southern hemisphere".
- As you say, it isn't anywhere close.. --(WT-en) Inas 20:56, 2 December 2008 (EST)
Car Rentals
[edit]A little while back, I removed all the descriptive text from the list of car rental companies. The text was all touting by the various companies, mostly that they were the cheapest, most reliable, best service, or rented cars for actually unattainable rates. There was no benefit to the traveler or any of it, and I thought best just to have the rental car company names, and then the traveler can compare themselves. For now, I'm going continue to keep these listings clean. Anybody who has any better ideas, please feel free to discuss. --(WT-en) Inas 20:23, 6 January 2009 (EST)
Districts, Cities & Towns
[edit]At the moment, the Gold Coast isn't a region - its a city. There are separate articles for Surfers Paradise and for Tweed Heads, because of the density of accommodation and attractions there. However there isn't a separate article for every suburb, like Robina, Sourhport, etc. All of these areas just go in the main article. If you think this should change, please discuss here. Thanks. --(WT-en) Inas 00:56, 21 January 2009 (EST)
See Also
[edit]We don't have "See Also" links in articles, see the Project:Manual of style. That sort of stuff usually goes in the "Get out" section, which is why I moved it there. --(WT-en) Inas 01:00, 21 January 2009 (EST)
Edit Problem (bug)
[edit]There is a problem editing this page, even just adding a single character. When saving, an edit conflict page appears, mentioning The page you wanted to save was blocked by the spam filter. This is probably caused by a link to an external Site. Something to do with "X mas" (without the space inside) Doesnt occur on other pages I edited (Whew!, nothing to do with me). --(WT-en) Advanstra 03:00, 21 February 2009 (EST)
- Fixed the problem, removed all references to the four letter word starting with X and the page saves correctly. Please do not use the word "X mas" (without the space inside) in this article, the spam filter doesn like it for whatever reason.--(WT-en) Advanstra 03:09, 21 February 2009 (EST)
Listings moved from this article
[edit]As per Wikivoyage policy there should be no specific sleep listings (etc) in this article. The following were removed and should be placed into their correct district articles.--(WT-en) Burmesedays 10:10, 6 June 2011 (EDT)

- Sea World is the oldest and also one of the most established theme parks in Australia. It first opened in 1958 before moving to its present site in 1971. It is the closest to heart of the Gold Coast and will be interesting for those who like marine animals. Lots of shows and live acts, and you could easily spend a day here without going on any rides, such as the corkscrew roller coaster, and speed water slides.
- Dreamworld is a traditional theme park with a popular tiger zoo and is the home of the Australian Big Brother House. The park itself is quite small but it is one of the best places to go in Australia if you are after thrill rides. Also includes Wiggleworld a great little kids area named after the Wiggles group.
- Warner Bros. Movie World is a Warner Bros. movie themed park. WB Movie and Loony Toon characters wander around all over the place. It is the most themed of the Gold Coast parks and includes the fastest (and in fact only really good) rollercoaster in Australia (Superman Escape). Once again a good place for the thrillseekers.
