Halong Bay is NOT CATBA ISLAND

[edit]

Please try to keep this article free of Catba-isms. I have begun the process of transition by adding a list of islands in the understand section. (WT-en) Pratyeka 14:23, 29 February 2012 (EST)

[edit]

I removed the two junk links - the ones that keep luring our helpless spammer friend back into his ruinous ways. Anyone who's been to Hanoi knows that there are more Ha Long Bay travel agencies than people, cats, and pho joints combined, so it's not like they're an obscure thing and those are a traveler's only two options of getting the trip done. Moreover, the person who added those links didn't provide any kind of testimony or description about them, so there's no way to know why we're recommending those two over any others. Substantively, the only real difference between them and the spammer's link was that they didn't keep overwriting him. (WT-en) Gorilla Jones 10:22, 29 June 2007 (EDT)

There seems to be quite a few links to tour boats seeping into the main text and outside the listings --(WT-en) Hpka 00:00, 2 April 2009 (EDT)

Recipe

[edit]

Recipes are off-topic for a travel guide, which is about going to places where they make particular dishes, not cooking them yourself wherever you are. But for people's reference, I've moved this recipe from the article here:

Recipe

[edit]
  • Select tu hài of a similar size.
  • Soak in water at 80-90 degrees Celsius for about 3 minutes.
  • Remove and wash the cooked Tu hài.
  • Dice some dried onion, garlic, and fresh onion leaves in to small pieces, fry them in vegetable oil, and mix in to the tu hài.
  • Add fish sauce, soup, and MSG to taste.
  • Steam for 12 to 15 minutes.
