Katy

[edit]

I cut the listing for Katy Mills because it's FAR outside the scope of what anyone would consider the Galleria area to encompass. When an appropriate Katy page is added, here is the content that could be placed in its "Buy" area...

  • <buy name="Katy Mills Mall" address="5000 Katy Mills Cr., Katy (25 miles west on IH-10)" phone="281-644-5000" email="katymills@themills.com" fax="" hours="10-9 Mo-Sa, 11-6 Su" price="" url="http://www.katymills.com/">In the nearby city of Katy, about 25 miles west of downtown Houston.</buy>

Name?

So should we move this to Houston/Galleria then? (WT-en) cacahuate talk 00:20, 11 August 2008 (EDT)

If the text is accurate, the move seems obvious. (WT-en) Pashley 08:06, 14 December 2009 (EST)
The text is not accurate. It's true most people call it the "Galleria area" or "Houston Galleria" due to the Galleria mall, being the focal point; however the the name "Uptown" was intended as a neutral replacement (sort of a PR move) since the name "Galleria" is actually owned by the mall people (or so I've heard). A simple web search will reveal both names are used regularly. Most tourist literature will actually refer to this area as "Uptown" (but also usually mention the informal "Galleria" name); you'll also notice the official neighborhood web page refers to it as "Uptown".
