Trivia[edit]

User:LtPowers, I believe there is. If we stray away from the actually useful content, our articles become infested with loads of text that has to be chewed through in order to get to the proper information. This makes our guides less useful.

Other users and myself have been pruning articles of useless trivia and information that isn't in any way helpful, and this has not been controversial thus far. PrinceGloria (talk) 04:23, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Well I think it's definitely a case-by-case thing. This sort of trivial tidbit livens up otherwise bland text and keeps the reader engaged. I realize Germans have a reputation for ruthless efficiency but I'm not sure that has a place in travel writing. =) Powers (talk) 01:01, 3 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. Lively writing is encouraged, and this is certainly not an article in danger of becoming "infested with text that has to be chewed through". Texugo (talk) 01:05, 3 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That's a subjective thing, to me this interjection looks childish and terrible and has nothing to do with lively writing, but I guess we shall leave it there. Have a good day guys! PrinceGloria (talk) 04:13, 3 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm supposed to have a nice day after my writing has been called "childish and terrible"? Powers (talk) 17:54, 3 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
