Coverage

[edit]

This article is stated to be about Hooghly city, not Hooghly District. Yet here are the "See" listings:

  • Ananta Basudev Temple - Bansberia, Hooghly
  • Imambara Mosque - Chinsurah, Hoogly
  • Sacred Heart Church - Chandannagar, Hooghly
  • Tomb of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique - Furfura Sharif, Hooghly

And the photo in the "See" section is of a church in Chandernagore, which has a longer article of its own

Do Chinsurah, Bansberia and Furfura Sharif also deserve their own articles? If not, is this the best article to cover them? Finally, if they are going to be covered in this article, a clear statement to that effect needs to be inserted into the lede.

Although I'm late in Wikivoyage, I have dealt with such issues and now Bandel, Bansberia, Chinsurah, Saptagram et cetra are covered as part of Hooghly city, while Furfura Sharif is covered as part of Rural Hooghly, which covers the more rustic part of Hooghly district. Rename to Hugli-Chuchura

[edit]

This article should be renamed because the article covers a single municipality that was originally two separate colonial towns: Hooghly (former Portuguese colony) and Chinsurah (former Dutch colony). I suggest the name Hugli-Chuchura, since it is the name of the city used in other Wikimedia websites. Sbb1413 (he) (talkcontribs) 09:04, 14 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
