Ra – 11,000 AD?
[edit]Was Ra formed in the future? I assume this is meant to be either BP or BCE, but which one? w:sv:Mellansvenska israndzonen (is that about the same moraine?) says 800 years about 12,000 BP. –LPfi (talk) 07:33, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- Ooops, should be BC. Thanks. I am not absolutly sure that the Ra and Mellansvenske are the same, but I guess. Norwegian WIkipedia says so: "Mellomsvenske israndavsetninger er glasiale avsetninger tilsvarende Ra-trinnet i Norge. etc" Erik den yngre (talk) 15:09, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- I assume the times when the glacier shrank and expanded where the same in Finland, Sweden and Norway, so the ages should correspond, although some periods may have left clearer traces in some regions (there seem to be four major terminal moraines in Finland, two of which are clear only in parts of their extent). –LPfi (talk) 16:00, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- Geologists call this the Ra-stage (Ra-trinnet), visible across Fennoscandia:
