Commenting on a recent revert: Keene is tiny (1k people; just like when I was last there 15 years ago :). In any community that size, there is overlap in roles among residents. Until recently, the closest thing to a proper website the town had was maintained by two residents. It still has more detail in many aspects of public services than the official town site (with only 10 pages and 40 documents), so I noted both. Sj (talk) 06:32, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

Yes, it isn't unique having this issue having good sites with more detail omitted in favour of official sites. We haven't come up with a good solution to these cases. That would be useful, thanks Inas. I would be glad to share some ideas. I don't think that 'official' sites are in any way less biased or less 'secondary' than whatever site is used by the locals as the official standard. Warmly, Sj (talk) 10:27, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

I don't think that's the issue. Merely that we need to reduce the proliferation of external links, and that the method we choose to do so needs to have a low administrative overhead, and not lead us into endless subjective discussions. --Inas (talk) 04:27, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
