I grew up in Madhupur.

Frankly, I do not know much about this site - although I have accounts in Wikipedia and Wikimapia. This page needs a good deal of updates and I will do them soon. —The preceding comment was added by 14.99.23.47 (talkcontribs) on 09:23, 1 April 2011‎

Leela Kamal Guest House listing

[edit]

Hi, everyone. What should we do about this listing? Is this edit a change from touting by the owner to an honest appraisal by a guest, or is it slagging by a competitor? And if the new text is accurate, should we simply de-list this guest house, given site policy to avoid negative reviews? Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:03, 1 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Moved from "By rail"

[edit]

This might have been added by the Telstra user, who seems to be a film buff:

The famous movie "Chit Chor" starring Amol Palekar and Zareena Wahid and directed by Basu Chattarjee, has the town of Madhupur as its setting.

If you find this significant, you could put it in "Understand". Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:04, 23 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Negative review?

[edit]

I moved this listing here for discussion, in view of Wikivoyage:Avoid negative reviews. Are there so few places to stay — or is this place so prominent — that it should be listed, in spite of the advice to avoid it?

  • 1 Leela Kamal Guest House, +91 94 3131 2512, +91 98 3535 4764. This place should better be avoided. The location is very remote, far from the railway station. Though the rooms are spacious and the owners provided good food at very reasonable rate, mosquitoes may be very irritating, especially after sunset. Frequent power cuts also are very inconvenient, after the generator is switched off after ten at night. There is some kind of an academic institution at the back of this complex, hence the noise of the students may cause many disturbances at daytime. And long term tenants at the same complex may seem to some as undesirable & ill-mannered. But you should be given free calls to prayer daily from a mosque located very close by, which is spiritual. Room - ₹600 /person; dorm - ₹400 /person (2016).
