Talk:Melville (New York)
Add topicCan't this be made into a real article?
[edit]See w:Melville, New York. This is a "hamlet" of 19,000. And:
Melville is home to the U.S. headquarters of several national and international corporations, including Canon USA,[2][3] Hain Celestial, Arrow Electronics, Chyron, MSC Industrial Direct, Nikon, OSI Pharmaceuticals, Allion the medical and dental supply distributor Henry Schein, Bouchard Transportation and global staffing giant Adecco (US headquarters). In addition, significant operations of Manhattan-based Estée Lauder are conducted there. Melville is also the host of operations for many Fortune 500 companies.
The Long Island newspaper Newsday is published in Melville.
The independent television station WLNY-TV operates a studio in Melville where it had been based before being purchased by CBS and moved to the network's Manhattan facility.
I find it hard to believe there couldn't be an article about this place. If I (with ultimately a little help) was able to create a Usable article on Oxford (Pennsylvania), a town of 5,000, I think that with a little effort, this could be turned into a reasonable article. VFD nomination
[edit]Nominated due to zero information about the location itself, and only a routebox at the bottom. It doesn't seem noteworthy and/or needs attention. Pirate-Prototype (talk) 03:41, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
- Speedy keep. Melville is a real place. Per w:Melville, New York, Melville is part of the Town of Huntington, so merge and redirect to Huntington (New York) unless or until someone wants to add substantial content to this article. Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:52, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
- Outcome: redirected to Huntington.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 09:24, 2 April 2021 (UTC) ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 09:25, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
