Talk:Montgomery County (Pennsylvania)
List of townships
[edit]This long list of townships has to go-- by policy we really want to get down to no more than 9 on this page. Also, I think it's OK to rename the Cities section to "Townships" but we wouldn't have two separate sections for both. Can anyone knowledgeable of this area suggest an organizational scheme? Listings
[edit]Whoa! That's a lot of listings! Unfortunately, listings belong in city/town articles, not region articles, so it would be best to move these to the individual city articles. We do this for a number of reasons, but one that should be obvious when looking at this page is that region articles would simply get too crowded if we tried to put all the listings in the county on one page. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 13:53, 2 December 2008 (EST)
- 13 years later, I've picked up the baton and started moving listings to city/town articles. I have deleted several duplicate lustings. I have corrected miscategorized listings (parks listed as "See", museums as "Do", stores as "See" or "Do". I have deleted some listings that do not belong in a travel article (e.g., a prep school). And I moved one listingbto a neighboring county.
- As I don't know the area, it is likely that I have moved a few listings to the wrong article. Please forgive me.
- In many cases, I have moved listings to the nearest town. We aren't going to have articles on every hamlet and township, because we'll end up with a bunch of articles with nothing but a single listing.
- I have created a few new articles to put listings in logical places.
- I have proposed to merge Eagleville into the new Audubon (Pennsylvania) article. Ground Zero (talk) 23:15, 21 February 2021 (UTC)
