Silent Valley[edit]

I have just come back from a four day trip to the Silent Valley National Park. I was planning to stay at Mannarkkad but accommodation is very well available in Agali Hills itself. What I have heard all these years was that Attapadi region is extremely backward and all that. But Agali is very well developed and the public transportation network is excellent. It can develop into a full fledged tourist destination. What we need are a few sign boards in Tamil language and some publicity in the Tamil Nadu state. It is difficult to attract Malayali tourists in large numbers to Silent Valley because they don't give much importance to evergreen forests as the entire state of Kerala has the same kind of vegetation. Keralites have a passion only for travelling to cities with good shopping possibilities. Tamils will like the greenery and the abundance of water bodies. What is more, it takes only 65 km from Coimbatore to reach Silent Valley National Park. Prof tpms (talk) 06:01, 26 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
