Talk:Pocono Mountains
Add topic"Driving distances"
[edit]I'm moving this here for discussion because I have no idea what the starting point is for these mileages. Where is the driver leaving from?
Driving Distances: Allentown-45 Miles Binghamton-93 Miles Harrisburg-125 Miles Long Island-93 Miles Philadelphia-85 Miles Scranton-41 Miles Washington D.C.-203 Miles
This is especially confusing because Scranton in is the region covered by this article and Long Island is 120 miles long! Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:16, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
Listings
[edit]There is a "movetocity" tag at the top of the page, but many of the small towns in this region have no article, so it makes some sense to have some listings in this region article. However, "Do" is a mess. It needs to be detouted and listified. Meanwhile, I'll delete the "movetocity" tag. Ikan Kekek (talk) 11:50, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
- Movetocity is still valid; just create the towns' articles. Powers (talk) 01:55, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
- The towns may not have enough of interest for individual articles. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:51, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
- Be that as it may, the listings still belong in leaf-node articles, whether individual towns or undivided rural regions, of which this is neither. Powers (talk) 18:15, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
- But someone has to create such an article for it to make sense to move all these listings. And it won't be me, as I don't have that level of expertise on this region. Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:23, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
- I don't see why that matters. The Movetocity tag is still valid. But you don't need any expertise to create an article, add an empty template, and move a listing into it. Powers (talk) 23:49, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- Destination articles that have nothing but an "x city is in y region" plus a single listing suck and aren't worth having. Ikan Kekek (talk) 00:02, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
- Every article starts somewhere. And we have to have some place to put listings that isn't here. Powers (talk) 00:42, 1 December 2015 (UTC)

Rename region to Northeastern Pennsylvania
[edit]I suggest this renaming because the article seems to have a bias on the Pocono Mountains region. Much of the info in that article could be moved to a new article on just the Pocono Mountains region. JsfasdF252 (talk) 03:17, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
