- You're right. Maybe this is not the best translation. This is a direct translation of the expression in Portuguese. I copied the expressions in this article: https://www.pordata.pt/en/Portugal/Housing+tourism+and+rural+area+tourism+establishments+total+and+by+type+of+establishment-2607. The categories of Tourism in rural space, in Portugal were translated as follows: Housing Tourism ( Turismo de Habitação), Rural Tourism ( Turismo Rural), Agrotourism or Agritourism (Agro-turismo), Country cottages ( Casas de Campo) and Rural hotel (Hotéis rurais). - The "Turismo de Habitação" has as the general concept preserves the houses, tradition, culture, architecture classical and rustic and traditional ways of life. Provides accommodation for tourists, in rural and urban areas where, otherwise, it would be difficult to stay overnight. The significant element of this type of tourism is that families still live in the houses, giving tourists a deeper insight into the customs and local ways of life.
