Talk:San Diego/Balboa Park-Hillcrest

I feel like this article should be split in two: Balboa Park, and Hillcrest. Hillcrest is only one of many neighborhoods bordering the park, and the neighborhood and the park have vastly different offerings. Smaller city parks should obviously be filed under their own articles, but given the size and wide variety of amenities in the park I feel it's appropriate for it to have its own distinct page. -70.181.232.193 23:38, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
- Interestingly enough, this page actually was originally two separate articles, split up just as you're proposing. The problem was that there was virtually nothing in the See and Do sections of the Hillcrest article, and almost nothing in the Eat, Drink and Sleep sections of the Balboa Park article. So combining them was a chance to play off the strengths of the other. And while Hillcrest is only one of the neighborhoods bordering the park, I'd argue that it's the only one with a substantial amount of tourist amenities. Aside from a few decent restaurants, North Park and South Park don't offer that much to your average tourist. PerryPlanet (talk) 02:23, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
