Weird ethnocentrism or perhaps made up?

"San Quintin wasn't safe to live in at the close of the 17th century as it was inhabited by man-eating tribes called “Ubilaos”. But then, the first Christians settlers from the towns of La Union and Ilocos Sur arrived, by then, they have found their way to the fast growing village resulting for the tribes Ubilaos and minorities to settle in the more deeper place in the vast forest for their safety."

So the place was dangerous until the super-civilized Christians arrived and never killed anyone, right? Is there any germ of truth to this, or should we delete it? Binjin26, since you added the text, please tell us where you got it from and defend it. I found the following text in numerous websites in a web search:

"At the close of the 17th century, San Quintin was still a wilderness inhabited by fierce man-eating tribes called "Ubilaos". At the beginning of the 18th century, the first Christian settlers from the coastal towns of La Union and Ilocos Sur arrived."
