This article is in the wrong category; Sonoma County is in the San Francisco Bay Area, not the North Coast. This needs to be fixed ASAP because all of the Sonoma County cities including Santa Rosa—the fifth largest city in the Bay Area—also appear in the wrong category in this travel guide.

I would make this change myself, except I can’t figure out how to do it. -- 23:04, 19 January 2013‎ 69.107.92.168

Per https://www.visitcalifornia.com/region/north-coast , at least, Sonoma County isn't part of the "North Coast" of California, despite what North Coast (California) says.
Changes needed:
The article on the Bay Area includes "southern Sonoma" county; that needs to be changed - when the map is changed.
The article on the North Coast (California) needs to be changed to remove Sonoma County entirely from the map and the text. -- John Broughton 22:28, 18 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Also fixed

[edit]
The article on North Bay (Bay Area) has been changed (text was wrong, map was right) and is now fine. -- John Broughton 22:28, 18 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Bodega

[edit]

Probably need to add this to Bodega Bay, both in the list and in the actual page, particularly because the map for Bodega Bay does include Bodega. General store, artisan's Co-Op gallery, Hitchcock stuff, Casino restaurant -- John Broughton 16:41, 1 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • the Sonoma County Artisans’ Co-op Gallery shows 50 local artists—some newbies, others widely known, including Carolyn Jarvis’s plein-air seascapes and Randy Snyder’s raku pottery. In 2023, the gallery will focus on a cluster of artists working in a specific genre every other month. The historic Bodega Art Gallery, once an 1850s blacksmith shop, offers a rotating display of artists’ work, as well as jewelry, antiques, and the requisite Alfred Hitchcock T-shirts and Tippi Hedren posters. Chef Mark Malicki’s Casino Bar & Grill, which isn’t a casino at all, is the place to eat. (From Sonoma Magazine, 1/2023] -- John Broughton 20:23, 20 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Sonoma County Airport

[edit]

This topic is covered in lots of articles. It would be much more efficient - and easier to maintain - if the information were centralized in a new article, Santa Rosa Airport (California). For example, the new shuttle service from the airport to the SMART train makes it possible to get to lots of places in Sonoma County without having a car. -- John Broughton 17:20, 16 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Most airports are mentioned in more than one article. Our usual practice would be to cover the article properly in the city in which it is located (Santa Rosa (California)), and then link to that listing from other articles. Our policy of not having articles for small airports is addressed at Wikivoyage:Airport Expedition. I don't think that Sonoma County Airport qualifies as an exception to the policy.
