The Ferry routes
[edit]This is an area I hear time and time again travelers really struggle with, the guide section is already long and difficult to follow. I have some ideas about how to improve it, but I would like some feedback and especially help from people in the know on this because it's a sensitive edit and I want to get it right.
1. the route from tangier MED to Tangier/Tangir isn't so concise, all that is really needed is the bus, ferry, cash exchange, and a warning about the bus/train not operating for late arrivals. I'm not 100% sure, but I hear the train hardly ever runs at all, only in peak season or something.
2. the taxi fare seems seriously overpriced and it reeks of cartel conduct, it's a long way to tangier from the port but the driver often picks up random (paying) passengers on the side of the road, and 250DM is more than the average daily wage in Morocco.
3. the bus FROM tangier to tangier MED, there is so much mis-matched information online about where it leaves from, I hear it's actually free. they told me at the offices it runs hourly 24/7 from the bus station, but on arrival at the station I was told it was bi-hourly. This could be some clever morrocan ruse, hard to say.
4. there is currently no complete list of ferry operators or prices, and no distinction between where one buys the ticket
5. there is no mention on just how unreliable the ferries are, both times I found them leaving on a timetable completely unrelated to the advertised one, one was 30min late, the other was FOUR HOURS late
6.I recieved good advice that it's MUCH better to not book the ferry, and just buy the ticket based on which ship is in port, that way you don't have to wait hours for a delayed vesstle
also do you think we should link the "get in" "go next" pages for cities linked by ferry? --Willthewanderer (talk) 08:35, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
