Reason for creation

See Wikivoyage talk:Using Mediawiki templates#Changing how we handle new templates for the discussion that led to the creation of this template. The main goal is to not immediate flag articles/templates that don't fit existing policy with a "VFD" while still keeping track of those articles/templates and encouraging the user who created the article to discuss the reason for its creation, and whether it makes sense to use another approach or merge the content elsewhere. -- Ryan • (talk) • 05:00, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

We had some discussion at Wikivoyage talk:Using Mediawiki templates about this.

Should we allow users to add experimental templates to articles? If so, how do we restrict it--one low visibility article? I'm inclined to say "no" articles, but would be OK with the "one low visibility article" option, if others think it worthwhile. --Peter ^Talk 21:02, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
