Linking straight to redirected page's history[edit]

So as far as I understand, this template is supposed to notify people that some of the content they are viewing is taken from another page, and thus some of the credit is not displayed on the page they are actually viewing. However, when clicked on the link given in the template, it sends you back to the page where you were in the first place. Regular contributors/readers probably know how to get around this problem, but we can't assume the occasional reader (who is supposedly the main target of this template), who is likely already surprised that s/he's back at where s/he started again, will once more click to the link given at the top of the page ("redirected from ..."), and then go into the history tab there—this is too much of a hassle, especially for a one-time reader. So wouldn't it be better to have a link straight into the revision history of the redirected page? I made a few quick tests, but there are seemingly no positive results (and I hope I didn't screw up everything). – (WT-en) Vidimian 15:54, 29 April 2010 (EDT)

I imported some code (using the "fullurl:" magic word) from Wikipedia:Template:Merged-from. How's that? (WT-en) LtPowers 16:31, 29 April 2010 (EDT)
Good enough. This makes everything a lot easier and clearer—now not only revision history is only one click away, but also it's easily visible, not hidden behind links after links. Thanks for the quick solution. – (WT-en) Vidimian 16:42, 29 April 2010 (EDT)
