About me
Hi, I'm Richard Edozie — an open-knowledge advocate and co-founder of Afroyanga Cultural Enlightenment Initiative (African & Proud). I design and lead programmes that help young Africans build digital literacy, contribute factual content to Wikimedia projects, and preserve local knowledge that often goes undocumented. I studied Electronics and Computer Engineering at Lagos State University, where I also served as the Programme/Project Coordinator of the Wikimedia Fan Club from 2019 to 2021 — the role that first grounded my passion for open knowledge.
Through initiatives like Culture Connect Africa, WikiClassroom, Afroyanga Bootcampp, and AfroContent+ workshops, I’ve worked with schools, community groups, and Wikimedia user communities across multiple African countries to expand participation in the movement. My goal is simple: make knowledge more accessible, transparent, and truly representative of the people who live it.
