Hello Edriiic! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

If you are a Wikipedian then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:

It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the travellers' pub or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing!

We're very glad to have you here and hope you help increase the useful travel information on Nigeria! That said, the Epe (Nigeria) stub you started wouldn't seem to be the way to do that. I suggest you look at Wikivoyage:Small city article template as an example of the kinds of information that are considered useful for travellers on this site, and also please have a look at What is an article.

I'll be more than happy to answer any of your questions after you've read links I've given you.

All the best,

Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:07, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Copyedited Kainji National Park

[edit]

Hey there, I've just copy edited Kainji National Park as it lacked the proper template. It's now no longer a stub now. Drop in by my talk page if you need help with anything. Cheers, SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 08:09, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Edriiic: it looks like you've copied text from other site, which we can't do because of copyright -- the people who write this stuff on other sites own the text. We can copy from Wikipedia, but you must put this tag on the article's talk page to give credit yo Wikipedia: {{Wikipedia}}. Are you going to rewrite the text to avoid the copyright problem, or should it be deleted? Ground Zero (talk) 12:42, 7 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Also, please let us know within the next 3 days, as copyright is a legal issue (to be honest, copyright sucks). SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 12:45, 7 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

I am going to rewrite the text. Can you kindly indicate where you want to be rewritten.

Thank you. Edriiic (talk) 13:44, 7 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hey mate, it's just what's red in the left box here. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 13:49, 7 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Okay. Thank you. Edriiic (talk) 14:45, 7 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@SHB2000: @Ground Zero: I got a notification that the page on Kainji Lake National Park has been deleted even after making the required corrections. What did I do wrong in the edit?
The edit comment on the delete said your text was a copyright violation from here.
@SHB2000: It was also in the notice you sent to me. I edited it and the copyright violation was 0% after my edit.
It shows it as 0% because User:Ibaman has deleted it. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 12:01, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
And when I mean deleted, I mean page deleted. 1.129.110.133 12:03, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@SHB2000: no I checked after I finished editing it yesterday before it was deleted.
You'd need to ask User:Ibaman or any other admin, since I'm not an admin on this wiki, and thus, I can't see deleted pages. [@Ikan Kekek, LPfi: - since you both are the most active admins this hour, could you help Edi? SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 12:08, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Ikan Kekek: please can you look into this? Thank you for your help :@SHB2000: Edriiic (talk) 12:24, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
No worries. Also sorry for the confusion with me using multiple IP addresses. My internet's down, and my laptops dead, but IP addresses beginning with 1.129 is me. 1.129.104.54 12:26, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Okay. Just hope Ikan Kekek will be able to resolve it Edriiic (talk) 12:29, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I am now undeleting the latest version edited by you. I am not now going to compare it to the source text, but perhaps SHB2000 can take a look. –LPfi (talk) 09:06, 9 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I've just temporarily moved it to User:Edriiic/sandbox/Kainji_National_Park for now. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 09:12, 9 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
It's now copyvio free, but I would like another admin to review it, as I'm not the best with these articles. Maybe Ground Zero, could you also give some feedback? SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 09:15, 9 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I am sorry for the late reply, my laptop crashed yesterday and I wasn't able to come online. Thank you so much for your work on Kainji National Park mostly the undeleting part it made my day :). Do I still have to edit it? Edriiic (talk) 06:36, 10 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
You could move it if you want, but I would like to hear a response from Ground Zero SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 06:51, 10 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
SHB2000 I will wait for Ground Zero to give his response to avoid any complications later. Thank you. Edriiic (talk) 07:19, 10 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I would say okay, but Ground Zero is the most active editor on Wikivoyage as at March 2021 (KevRobbAU retired), and GZ expands an article every day, so it's why I left it to him as well. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 07:25, 10 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
SHB2000 Yeah. I get what you are saying. Will wait to get a response from @Ground Zero:

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── sorry for not responding sooner. I have limited access this week as I am away from home. The article looks very good, and should be moved to article space if there is no copyright violation. A few suggestions for improvement:

  • are there any fees for entry? If there are not, we should say so.
  • contact information (phone number, websire) for the hotels would be useful.
  • why is there so much information on mobile phone services? Is that really a big issue for visitors to the park?

With these questions addressed, the article would be close to usable status, but it would be worth reviewing Wikivoyage:Park_article_status. Good work, @Edriiic:. Ground Zero (talk) 18:03, 10 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Ground Zero:. There's no copyright violation now. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 21:56, 10 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Saki Town

[edit]

Large parts of this article appear to have been copied from Wikpedia. That is frowned on here for several reasons:

  • We are a travel guide, not an encyclopedia, so much info that is fine at WP simply does not belong here.
  • Where possible, it is nearly always good to avoid having the same info in two places since this doubles the maintenance work if something changes. Of course this is not always possible.
  • The licences WP uses require attribution to the source; copying without attribution is a copyright violation and, at least in theory, you could be sued over it. Just adding a comment on the article talk page, as someone suggests above, should be enough.

Please delete the copied text.

For ways to link to WP see Wikivoyage:Links to Wikipedia. Pashley (talk) 10:11, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Pashley: I thought it was okay to take information from wiki then give a referencing. And it was under the UNDERSTAND section which has the history and other informations that are basically facts.

@pashley: is it okay to leave the history and commerce section? Edriiic (talk) 11:47, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

The commerce section usually doesn't belong in a travel guide. My internet's just crashed so I can't use the copyvio checker yet. Currently using my hotspot, so Pashley will have to tell you that. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 11:51, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@SHB2000: okay, so contents like what can be in the Understand section? Just the history?
Have a look at some of Wikivoyage:Star articles as an inspiration. User:Ground Zero would be a better person to comment of this, since I usually only really include history, visitor information centres, and why it's significant, but GZ adds a lot more content to Understand, so maybe if possible, User:Ground Zero, could you please comment on this? SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 12:01, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@SHB2000: thanks for the tip. I will work on it. Hope it won't be deleted afterwards because it's really painful seeing an article being deleted after working on it.
[Edit conflict]: ::First, please sign each edit on talk pages by typing 4 tildes (~) in a row at the end of the edit. Second, I would suggest you look at Wikivoyage:Small city article template and also at city articles in Category:Star articles to see what kind of content tends to be included in each section. It's alright to consult Wikipedia and summarize some key points from a relevant article with credit (put that in a summary you type in the "Summary" box below your edit screen), but it's seldom reasonable to copy and paste wholesale from Wikipedia even if you credit your source in one or more edit summaries or by posting on the article's talk page, because of the differences in style and goals between Wikivoyage and Wikipedia. If you haven't already, please read Welcome, Wikipedians, which details some of the differences. Moreover, if a site says "copyright, all rights reserved", you can get sued for copying it, though you are still free to summarize some points with credit. Please let us know if you have more questions. Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:07, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Okay. Noted. Thank you for the information.Edriiic (talk) 12:11, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Also, Ikan Kekek, could you move that page to Ediiiric's userspace? 1.129.110.133 12:15, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
[Edit conflict:] Thank you for working with us. This site is greatly improved by having more information about Nigeria! About moving pages, no, I'm outtahere; you do it. Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:16, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I'm only asking you since the move option isn't appearing nor is my Twinkle 1.129.105.9 12:18, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Ikan Kekek:, wait never mind, I'm logged out. 1.129.105.9 12:20, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Also for Ediiiric, I'll move it to User:Edriiic/sandbox/Saki_Town. You can rename it if you wish. 1.129.111.194 12:23, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Is this information for me? Edriiic (talk) 12:29, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yep, moved. Also, no one will edit it, and there's no hurry for you to finish it quickly. Move it mainspace when you wish, and if you need help, ping Ikan Kekek or I. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 12:34, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Edriiic (talk) 12:38, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
A better way of getting help is to post a question on User talk:Edriiic/sandbox/Saki_Town. I'll be happy to work with you, but I'm not here 24/7, and that's why it's good that there's more than one admin and more than one long-time user here. Ikan Kekek (talk) 14:20, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@SHB2000: I am done editing on https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/User:Edriiic/sandbox/Saki_Town can it be moved now? I pinged you on the sandbox page but it seems you didn't get the notification. Your input is very much welcomed and appreciated on the article.Edriiic (talk) 13:48, 11 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

I've moved it to mainspace now. Although this isn't a must, the one thing that would be really nice is if there were a custom page banner. I've upgraded your article to usable as well. It's well on its way from becoming a guide, but keep up the good work! SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 12:44, 11 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. I have also added more contents to https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Kainji_National_Park I keep forgetting to add 4 tildes (~) on each edit Edriiic (talk) 13:48, 11 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Tip: you could go to Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-betafeatures and enable "Discussion tools". It makes replying easier and it automatically signs your messages. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 13:57, 11 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Expedition

[edit]

A new "expedition" has been created to support the fantastic work of the Nigerian team. Please see Wikivoyage:Nigeria Expedition. Ground Zero (talk) 02:39, 20 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Ground Zero: Noted, thanks. It will make it easier to see articles that need editing. Edriiic (talk) 22:05, 24 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

An award for you!

The Nigerian Barncompass
For all your great work to improving Nigerian destinations and remember, you can always join the Nigerian expedition. All the best! SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 00:03, 21 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the recognition. :) Edriiic (talk) 06:52, 21 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
No worries. You can always ask me anything if you need help. Also, are you going to submit Old Oyo National Park for the contest? SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 06:54, 21 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. How do I submit the article for the contest? Edriiic (talk) 18:25, 23 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@SHB2000: what competition? Edriiic (talk) 08:18, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

This one: m:Nigeria Expedition. You've already submitted three articles (if I can recall correctly). SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 08:22, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@SHB2000: okay. I worked on an article yesterday https://en.m.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Chad_Basin_National_Park But it’s grouped as an outline, saying it needs more information. Can you kindly check it and recommend sections that needs more contents, because I think I have added all the information that is needed. But a review from you will be very much appreciated. Edriiic (talk) 08:27, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yes Done - to upgrade it to guide, you'll need to use listings for the see and do, but apart from that, looking good! SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 08:33, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@SHB2000:} okay I will try editing the see and do sections to listing format, even for all my older articles. I will like the feeling of my article being upgraded to ‘guide’ :). Thanks for the tip. Edriiic (talk) 08:42, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

The opening of the Nigeria café

[edit]

Dear Edriiic, we are exited to open our new Nigeria Café, open to all. It is a place for the users of the Wikivoyage:Nigeria Expedition users to collaborate, ask for help, make announcements, make initiatives and most importantly celebrate article related celebrations. It is also a place for you to ask general questions, and an experienced user or an admin will be sure to answer the question and possibly teach more on how Wikivoyage works.

This is also meant to be on top of the Wikivoyage:Nigeria Expedition, which is also meant to help us improve our Nigerian destinations. If you haven't already joined, feel free to join, and it is never too late.

So be sure to check Wikivoyage:Nigeria café

Thanks! SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 14:51, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Photo Violation

[edit]

SHB2000 Hi. I saw the wiki commons notifications of my pictures being selected, as I pointed out earlier it was my friend's photos. But the mistake I did was marking the photos as my own work. Thanks once again :) —The preceding comment was added by Edriiic (talkcontribs)

Hi Edriiic, yeah, no problems. I know those were probably uploaded some months ago probably when you weren't aware of copyright laws, but nice to see you back :). You also weren't the only person who I had tagged copyvio tags, as generally that's what I usually do on commons apart from file moving. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 11:31, 27 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, thanks. It's nice to be back also. —The preceding comment was added by Edriiic (talkcontribs) 13:49, 27 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, it's been a long time since the Nigeria Expedition so it was a nice little surprise. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 13:53, 27 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I was rounding up with my university studies then, but I am done now. I want to ask if we can create individual pages about Universities on WIkivoyage?Edriiic (talk) 05:55, 28 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
We don't have individual articles for unis, but we rather include them in the article's learn section. Although the "learn" section isn't a must, and is completely optional, that doesn't mean it can't be included. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 23:00, 27 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Okay, thanks. Please do you also review articles on Wikipedia? —The preceding comment was added by Edriiic (talkcontribs) 05:55, 28 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I sadly don't do any more activity on the English Wikipedia. But apparently sometimes drafts there can take up to five months, but I'm not fully sure how it works. When I was quite active there as an IP, I didn't really make any new articles, just worked on some existing ones about politics so I never really had to use their Articles for Creation process. Maybe @Ground Zero: can help you with that, but they're also not that active on the English Wikipedia as they were a couple of years back. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 06:43, 28 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Okay, that's great. I was just asking because I have some articles that hasn't been reviewed for a while now. Thanks :) Edriiic (talk) 21:12, 28 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Late reply. But yes, there doesn't seem to be any coordination over on Wikipedia, so they seem to just get reviewed randomly. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 06:43, 6 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Apart from that though, thanks for organising the transport and recreation expedition. Hope that works well :-) SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 06:44, 6 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
I am so excited about it. And Hopefully it will go very smoothly. The community I want to involve in the expedition are very willing to learn, and will contribute dully to Wikivoyage Edriiic (talk) 08:03, 6 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Made an announcement at Pub#Nigeria Transportation and Recreation Expedition so hopefully this will bring the community's attention. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 08:17, 6 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I saw the announcement. Thank you so much for all the support on the project also. I really appreciate everything you do for the Wikivoyage community Edriiic (talk) 08:22, 6 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Edriiic :-) And thanks for creating another expedition. The five of us (myself, Ground Zero, SelfieCity, Ikan and DaGizza) really enjoyed the Nigeria Expedition, so can't wait to have another one. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 08:25, 6 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
That's nice to hear :) I am also bumped to work with you guys. Also I saw the notification of me being added to the Autopatrollers. Thanks for that once again. Edriiic (talk) 18:24, 6 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yeah there's no need to click the "Mark as patrolled" button for your edits anymore. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 22:08, 6 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Nigeria Transportation and Recreation Expedition

[edit]

Hi SHB2000, Ground Zero, WhatamIdoing I just want to keep you guys in the loop concerning updates on the Nigeria Transportation and Recreation Expedition, the grant has been approved, and I am awaiting funds to start the preparation. But while we wait, I was wondering if we could just prepare the necessary things to make the onboarding of the new editors smooth? And I will love it if you guys (probably one of you guys) could be open to having a short session probably on zoom or any platform you are comfortable on, with the participants on the day of the physical program just to give them a foundation overview of what Wikivoyage is all about. Thanks :)Edriiic (talk) 17:41, 22 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi Edriiic. As much as I'd like to join, I'll be very busy IRL from Thursday, and my schedule isn't very freeing the upcoming next month and I'll be away interstate in a few weeks time. I'll see if I can try to make it, but there's a high chance that I might not.
OTOH, if there's anything I can do to help in assisting anything, I'm more than happy to help out, including writing a page (in my userspace, accessible for anyone) before the day of the physical program. Sorry about not being able to do what was originally planned. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 11:52, 23 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Okay SHB2000 I totally understand. Can it be added to the Cafe? Edriiic (talk) 17:48, 26 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, it sure can. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 21:58, 26 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

SHB2000 the selected list of articles can also be published there. I can share the list with you also. Edriiic (talk) 17:50, 26 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Edriiic I am returning home today, and can try to be available. What day are you thinking of? I can work on Zoom or WhatsApp. Ground Zero (talk) 13:49, 26 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Ground Zero Currently, the date I have fixed is the 11th of December. Zoom is very very okay, I am looking at a 10-20mins online video call with you explaining the foundation overview of what Wikivoyage is all about to the participants at the physical event (11th of December) which will be the kickoff of the Expedition. Thank you :)Edriiic (talk) 17:48, 26 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
If possible, that would be great. (by email, talk page or anything) SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 21:59, 26 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Okay. What time? Lagos is 6 hours ahead of Toronto. (As I write this, it is 11:15PM in Lagos, and 5:15PM in Toronto.) Ground Zero (talk) 22:18, 26 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi, sorry for the late reply, I had issues with my network. Will 3pm in Lagos be okay? Which is 9am Toronto Time on Saturday. Edriiic (talk) 15:11, 27 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi @Ground Zero I just noticed I didn't tag you to my reply so probably you didn't get a notification to my response. Is the proposed time good for you? Edriiic (talk) 12:15, 30 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I can send it to your email? It just a google sheet link. Edriiic (talk) 15:12, 27 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I will available at that time. Ground Zero (talk) 12:24, 30 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Ground ZeroThank you. I will keep you posted with any changes. Edriiic (talk) 12:32, 30 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yeah sure, that would be greatly appreciated. (Email me here) SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 20:33, 27 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Edriiic: I haven't received a link yet. Please check your email. Ground Zero (talk) 02:50, 4 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ground Zero I replied your email, but it bounced back. And I didn’t know where to send you email. The event is next week Saturday, I will send the link ASAP. There is a delay because I haven’t received the funds for the project from the foundation, but I will keep you posted. Please can you privately send me your WhatsApp number? I didn’t know how to send an email on here. Ground Zero Edriiic (talk) 05:46, 4 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Edriiic, try Special:EmailUser/Ground Zero. That should let you send plain text (including URLs). WhatamIdoing (talk) 05:53, 4 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

WhatamIdoing thank you :) Edriiic (talk) 06:00, 4 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi @SHB2000 the expedition will be kicking off with a physical event on Saturday 11th.

Expedition Followup

[edit]

Hi @WhatamIdoing @Ground Zero @SHB2000 The expedition officially started on the 11th, and the online training session was done today, so new edits on articles and article creation will be done by new users on WIkivoyage, just sending a notification ahead of time. Most of them have started making edits. @Ground Zero thanks once again for your virtual presence at the physical event.

Looking forward to a successful expedition. :)

Edriiic. Thank you for the update. I will watch the edits and help out your team where I can. Best of luck to you. Ground Zero (talk) 20:47, 13 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
THANK YOU :) Season greetings. Edriiic (talk) 23:53, 13 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Ikan Kekek sorry I didn't tag you along from the beginning, it skipped my mind. Thanks for your help with the new articles being created by the expedition participants.Edriiic (talk) 13:37, 23 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yeah thanks for starting this expedition :-) It's going really well. Apologies I couldn't respond to your ping last week, as I was interstate. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 19:49, 23 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I am excited to see more contributions from the participants. Also please feel free to share suggestions or any observations you made. Edriiic (talk) 08:36, 24 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I think this is probably the most successful expedition since I started participating on this site in the 00s, in terms of attracting new editors who have stayed for an extended period and contributed a really large number of articles. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:39, 24 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Than you @Ikan Kekek :) Edriiic (talk) 08:44, 24 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! Ikan Kekek (talk) 17:14, 24 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Expediction is coming to an end

[edit]

Hi @SHB2000: @Ikan Kekek: @Ground Zero: The expedition is coming to an end in the next 5-days, January 31st. And I just wanted to appreciate you all for your support to me and the new editors that joined during the contest, dealing with stubborn Nigerians is not an easy task. I know, I have been silent, but that's because I was dealing with settling in with my new job.

I really appreciate you guys and all that you do, and I am looking forward to working more with the Wikivoyage community in the future. Also, do you guys want to be part of the jury, I will really love your input in selecting the winner of the contest if anyone would know the winner it will be you guys. :) Edriiic (talk) 09:50, 26 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hey Edriiic, first of all, thank you for hosting this expedition :-) It's been one of the most enjoyable moments of Wikivoyage that I've had in my times of regular and frequent editing. I'm happy to help out with the jury bit. All I need to know is how the system works and I'll be started.
Also, don't worry too much about not being very active. Real-life matters are much more important than Wikivoyage. I hope your new job has being going well. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 09:55, 26 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes my new job is going on very fine. Thank you.
The scoring system for the winners would be as follows:
Two point (2.0) would be awarded for every new Wikipedia and Wikivoyage article.
One point (1.0) for every 1000 bytes of content for the articles.
Half a point (0.5) for every quality source or citation used in a Wikipedia article.

Thanks for the info + the link. One thing though, what about articles like the empty articles currently nominated for deletion? Do those get discounted? SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 10:07, 26 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes, any empty articles, or articles nominated for deletion won't be counted. Edriiic (talk) 10:11, 26 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Oh okay. Thanks for the clarification. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 10:15, 26 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, Edriiic. This expedition has been great! So much content was generated! I hope some of the new users stick around and continue to edit here after the end of the month. Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:20, 26 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Edriiic: congratulations on the expedition and on your new job. I will be fairly busy early in February so I don't think I'll get able to commit to being a judge. I have learned a lot about Nigeria through your team's contributions and new articles. I hope to be able to visit someday. Ground Zero (talk) 16:28, 28 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
