Understand

Beuel is one of four districts of the city of Bonn. It includes all of the neighbourhoods of Bonn on the right bank of the river Rhine. The former city of Beuel was an independant city until August 1, 1969, when it was merged with Bonn. Beuel consists of the following districts: Beuel-Mitte, Beuel-Ost, Geislar, Hoholz, Holtorf, Holzlar, Küdinghoven, Limperich, Oberkassel, Pützchen/ Bechlinghoven, Ramersdorf, Schwarzrheindorf/Vilich-Rheindorf, Vilich, Vilich-Müldorf.

• Travel to Beuel see page Bonn
• Konrad-Adenauer-Platz is the main transport hub of Beuel. The 1 Station. (updated Mar 2018) is a bit off centre, but still within easy reach. There are direct train connections to Koblenz via Linz am Rhein, from Köln via Troisdorf and from Mönchengladbach via Grevenbroich.
• The nearest airport is Köln-Bonn; there is a direct train (1/2 hour commute).
• High-Speed trains stop (ICE) at Bahnhof_Siegburg/Bonn reachable with cityline no. 66.
• The freeway A59 connects Bonn-Beuel with Köln.
• Some excursion ships stop at Bonn-Beuel.
• The promenade-bikepath Rhine Cycle Route leads from the mouth of the river Sieg up to Königswinter. So also Bonn, for trans-reginal bikeroutes.
• The long disstance-trail Rheinsteig to Wiesbaden-Biebrich passes through Beuel and follows the river bank as well.
• The long distance-trail Rheinhöhenweg to Wiesbaden starts in Beuel.
• Beuel is connected to Bonn by 3 bridges: the Kennedybrücke (Kennedy Bridge) and 2 bridges for freeways (open to bicycles and pedastrians).

There is also a small ferry service Rheinnixe, which can transport bicycles as well.

Parks

• 1 Beueler Rheinaue. 

The banks of the river rhine in Beuel are very scenic, because the southern part of the promenade is in an almost natural condition. Sun bathing lawns, barbecue spots and small beaches make this an popular recreational area.

Do

• 3 Pützchens Markt. Traditional fair in Bonn-Pützchen since the 18th century, every second weekend in September. The historic railway Beuel - Pützchens Markt Hangelar is re-activated for these events. For details and time table see: RSE-Website (updated Mar 2018)
