Hello!

Welcome to Wikivoyage. You can edit your preferences to change how the software works for you. Please take a second to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you're new to our wiki software, MediaWiki, look at the Wiki markup to get an idea of how to edit a page. If you need help, check out the help desk, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub.

Thanks for your contributions to Barcelona. As several editors have tried to point out, the Project:Accommodation listings policy is pretty clear that an apartment rental agency can only be listed when there is a local office that travelers can visit to pick up keys, resolve problems, etc. From the website of the agency your listing it does not appear to meet that criteria and is therefore (unfortunately) inappropriate for a Wikivoyage article. If you disagree with this policy please read the rationale for it on Project:Accommodation listings#Proposal and make any suggestions that you feel might improve the guideline. -- (WT-en) Ryan (talk) 03:17, 27 March 2007 (EDT)

Keys[edit]

Your fine website says:

Where and when will I receive the keys?
The owner or guardian of the accommodation will give you the keys when he shows you into the accommodation. The steps outlining what you should do to arrange to meet the owner/guardian will be explained in the booking confirmation we will send you.

Could you please correct this on your website first before asking us to list your apartment service so that we have obvious confirmation that you have met our guidelines for listing. -- (WT-en) Colin 03:47, 27 March 2007 (EDT)

Hey, What's up?[edit]

It looks like Flip666's removal of your listing in Paris seems to have annoyed you to the point of vandalism. Would you like to talk about it? There have always been multiple theories here on external linking, you might well find you have allies if you want to take up the cause. -- (WT-en) Mark 08:46, 27 March 2007 (EDT)

The removal of my listing didn´t make any sense since the other links in Paris are very similar (commercially speaking). So can someone be straight and tell me what the guidelines are for adding a listing?
Have a look at Project:Accommodation listings#Apartment listings and Project:External_links#What not to link to ~ 61.91.191.9 11:36, 27 March 2007 (EDT)
You may also want to read WikiPedia:Wikipedia:Do not disrupt Wikipedia to illustrate a point, which is equally applicable on Wikivoyage. If you disagree with a policy please discuss it, which in the long term is the most productive way of getting things done. -- (WT-en) Ryan (talk) 11:56, 27 March 2007 (EDT)
OK people, I read the rules concerning apartment listings. The listing I was trying to put up meets the last three conditions, but not the first. A legitimate reason for throwing me off the page one could conclude. But concerning the first condition, we do have a 'real world' office with a phone number and a address. The only thing that does not happen is that the actual tourist will come up to our office to pick up the keys. Seems a rather complicated procedure to me. Why make things so hard for a Wikivoyager? Why not go directly to the apartment where the keys will be handed over to the person in question for the time of rental? Can someone explain me the logic behind condition one?
Apartment listings
Owners of apartments, condos, and vacation homes sometimes arrange with a rental agency to rent out their place when they aren't using it. In order to list an agency in Wikivoyage, it must meet the following conditions:
1. The agency must have a 'real world' office with a phone number and address where the keys will be picked up.
  2. Rentals of less than 1 week must be available.
  3. The lodgings must not be available to rent directly through the owner
  4. Must be in a location where travelers frequently rent cabins/apartments
