Hello Dezwitser! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Project:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.
Great work on Vientiane! (WT-en) Jpatokal 23:10, 6 September 2007 (EDT)
- Really great work! Please take a look at Wikivoyage Press and let me know if you'd be interested in covering Laos.
- Regarding hotel listings and such, could I ask you to try out the <sleep ...> tags? (I've added one as an example.) These ensure that formatting is perfect. (WT-en) Jpatokal 07:54, 16 September 2007 (EDT)
Thanks! I take your proposal as a compliment, but cannot do it: I can do Vientiane because I am living here. My travels in Laos have not been so extensive that I could contribute more than just some basics about other destinations.
As for the tags, I'll keep that in mind. (WT-en) Dezwitser 09:46, 17 September 2007 (EDT)
- Actually we might well be interested in Vientiane alone? Please drop me a line. (WT-en) Jpatokal 01:22, 18 September 2007 (EDT)
Vientiane in fr
[edit]Hi, I guess your comment in the pub was probably about the fr:Vientiane article. (If not - ignore this message!) I've tried to update a few sections already, and will do more as I get time. However, I know nothing about Vientiane and my French isn't perfect, so I'll probably get things wrong. Since you're the local expert (and a 2 or 3 in French if I understood correctly?), can you at least keep an eye on my changes or maybe even patch other sections up?
Also, for whatever it's worth, fr doesn't seem to have the notion of stub/outline/guide etc - either articles are bouchons or not.

Great map!
[edit]Great map of Vientiane! Can you also upload the SVG original? (WT-en) Jpatokal 22:50, 28 November 2007 (EST)
- Coming. (WT-en) Dezwitser 00:52, 29 November 2007 (EST)
- Not quite... I uploaded the svg file, but under Firefox when I download it again I see only one of the six layers (the "legends" layer). Under IE however, the whole file is downloaded (and opened in Inkscape). Any explanation?(WT-en) Dezwitser 01:30, 29 November 2007 (EST)
