Hello, Dguillaume! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Project:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. --Globe-trotter (talk) 20:19, 24 September 2012 (CEST)
- Dguillaume, it's very good to see you contributing here. I hope life has been treating you well. Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:32, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks! I've been otherwise occupied with offline issues (for longer than I'd realized, now that I look at that gap in my own contributions history) and haven't had much time for WV; but that's settled back down again, and I certainly still have places to travel. -- D. Destructive
[edit]So ... why did you undo all of my edits—considerable work—just to get your way on time formats. It would have been possible to change those through the search and replace function. Would you like me to come and undo your work in this way? Tony (talk) 09:17, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
- It's nothing personal, Tony. That's just this editor's cock-sure style. He usually doesn't deign to debate or discuss, he just jumps straight in with both feet - presumably on the basis that his editing time is more valuable than yours. --W. Franke-mailtalk 21:55, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
- So good to hear from you, Frank. Do you always open conversations with personal insults, or is it just when you're selectively ignoring agreed-on policies? -- D. Guillaume (talk) 22:02, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
- Birds of a feather. Fitzgerald couldn't point to a policy I was in defiance of and I doubt you can too. Really your edit just boiled down to "I don't like it, and I can't be bothered to even think about why someone might spend time doing this when we've never done this before." I don't suppose you're interested in the rationale for making it easier to distinguish good from bad examples in our MoS, but in case I'm wrong, here's some material to study: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style/Archive_107#Using_color_and_typeface_to_set_off_example_text_on_MOS_and_MOSNUM.
- And just to save some more of your precious time (so you don't have to actually read that) here's your predicted response:
- "We're not Wikipedia, we do things differently here." (Feel free to selectively delete the last two paragraphs if, contrary to my assessment, you are actually capable of learning anything novel). --W. Franke-mailtalk 22:13, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

- My question is answered, then. But I'm curious -- doesn't your own talk page request that others "be civil and polite if you wish your message to remain", and "Something to say about my edits to one of our articles? Please say it on that article's talk page, not here"?
- I trust you're already perfectly familiar with Wikivoyage:Using MediaWiki templates, as you were checking against it earlier, and adding a few instances of Template:Experimental yourself afterwards. -- D. Guillaume (talk) 22:36, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

UserMerge
[edit]Hey, I just noticed that your old WT account contributions were never merged into your WV account. Would you like me to do that now? --Peter Talk 07:46, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
- Huh. I had thought they were, but you're right; I must have overlooked that somehow. Would you please? -- D. Guillaume (talk) 05:24, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
- Done. I have moved your old talk page to User talk:Dguillaume/Archive, so you may want to update a link or two. While your old user page's history was kind of fun to read, I figured that history didn't need preserving, so it's a simple redirect ;) --Peter Talk 19:24, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you! -- D. Guillaume (talk) 19:51, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
Defluoridation of Israel
[edit]In case you're wondering why I added news of Israel's future defluoridation, you could read my userpage if desired. --Lo Ximiendo (talk) 11:02, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hello! Sorry for writing in English. As you're an administrator here, please check the message I left on MediaWiki talk:Licenses and the village pump. Thanks, Nemo 19:22, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
Administrator status (Official Notice)
[edit]Hi, Dguillaume. Apologies for not sending you an e-mail, but you haven't enabled e-mail in your preferences.
Your service as a Wikivoyage administrator has been valuable. As you may be aware, though, our Wikivoyage:Administrators policy indicates that administrators who have not edited on the English Wikivoyage in over two years should have their administrator flags removed. This is for account security purposes, not a reflection of a loss of trust or any disappointment.
As such, we will be removing your administrator flag on December 1, 2015. Should you wish to retain your status, simply come on back and make an edit! That resets the clock. And if you ever decide to return to Wikivoyage as an active editor, your administrator flag can be restored by request.
If you have any questions or concerns, let me know.
