Welcome[edit]

Hello Josh!

Even though you have been here a while, Welcome to Wikivoyage. Please take a sec to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you need help, check out Project:Help, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub.

Thank you for your contributions. -- (WT-en) Huttite 00:52, 10 Dec 2005 (EST)

Redondo Beach[edit]

I removed Redondo Beach from Southern California since the top-level regions usually only contain major cities and destinations. Feel free to discuss on the talk page if you feel it belongs there. -- (WT-en) Ryan 15:33, 15 Dec 2005 (EST)

Where in the world is Holmes Beach?[edit]

When I read the Holmes Beach page I have no idea where it is. I found it because it was a Dead-end page. Please do not assume that people know anything about a destination before they read it. Please follow the Project:Article templates guidelines when you create a new article, they show the minimum amount of information needed for an article and can help you organise your ideas. -- (WT-en) Huttite 19:26, 6 Jan 2006 (EST)

Estes Park[edit]

Thanks for you contributions to Estes Park, but please see Project:External links before re-adding any external links to travel directories. Unless a directory is the official site for a destination (for example, www.disneyland.com is the official site for Disneyland) it is generally not included in travel articles here since adding such guides often is done instead of actually adding travel information to the article itself. -- (WT-en) Ryan 16:30, 7 Feb 2006 (EST)

Adding lodging in region articles[edit]

Thanks for your work in adding lodging and city options to the California articles. One quibble, however, is that you have in some instances changed the "Stay safe" heading in a region article template to "Stay" and then added lodging under that heading. The proper way to add lodging is to create a small city article for the city you want to add lodging for (assuming an article for that city does not yet exist) and then add the lodging under the "Sleep" section of that article. If you have any questions feel free to leave a message on my talk page, or to look at how I've modified your entry to the Sierra Nevada region. -- (WT-en) Ryan 13:21, 20 Feb 2006 (EST)

Colorado = Rocky Mountains[edit]

Thanks for your addition to Southwest (United States of America), but according to the breakdown in the United States of America article, Colorado has been lumped into the Rocky Mountains (United States of America) region. If you disagree please discuss on Talk:United States of America and perhaps we can change it. -- (WT-en) Ryan 13:25, 19 April 2006 (EDT)

Sleep[edit]

Please try to keep entries about lodging (which we put in the "Sleep" section) factual, rather than promoting the place you're describing. It's OK to say what's nice about the place, but try to avoid making it sound like an advertisement. On the other hand, including addresses, phone numbers, and even links to the place's web site is encouraged. - (WT-en) Todd VerBeek 10:01, 2 May 2006 (EDT)

Also, take a look at Project:Accommodation listings to see how we like to have listings formatted. Keeping the listings for each place compact helps to keep them organized when we get several for a given city. - (WT-en) Todd VerBeek 15:28, 7 July 2006 (EDT)

Hi, you added a link in Estes Park for an external guide. That is not allowed in Wikivoyage as we only allow primary links, so I reverted your addition. Please review Project:External links for the complete policy. Thanks. -- (WT-en) Tom Holland (xltel) 11:38, 5 January 2007 (EST)

Hi, I have reverted this again, would you like to discuss why this link should be kept? -- (WT-en) Tom Holland (xltel) 11:56, 10 January 2007 (EST)

Please read the what not to link to guidelines, which explain why so many of your edits get reverted. The apartment listings guidelines are also relevant. ~ 58.8.1.11 17:30, 19 December 2007 (EST)
