Hello!
Welcome to Wikivoyage. You can edit your preferences to change how the software works for you. Please take a second to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you're new to our wiki software, MediaWiki, look at the Wiki markup to get an idea of how to edit a page. If you need help, check out the help desk, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub.
Thanks for your work on Washington (state). I've removed a couple of listings for the George Washington Inn, since we don't usually have listings for places that aren't open yet. --(WT-en) Evan 23:28, 21 December 2006 (EST)
External Links
[edit]Hi, please take a look at our Project:External_links policy to see why I had to rollback your most recent set of changes to Sequim. -- (WT-en) Jonboy 11:58, 23 December 2006 (EST)
Thanks for your help...like a typical guy, I plunge in without reading the directions first. Living & learning. (WT-en) GeorgeWashingtonInn 12:39, 23 December 2006 (EST)
Hi - unless your inn is actually located within the boundaries of Olympic National Park it probably isn't appropriate to list it within the park article. See Project:Where you can stick it for guidelines. If it is in the park feel free to re-add - see Project:Accommodation listings for details on how to format the listing and what information to add. -- (WT-en) Ryan 03:35, 24 December 2006 (EST)
Nine Cities
[edit]Sorry I had to roll back your edits to Washington (state). We have a general rule against having more than nine cities listed...people get rather heated about it. See Wikivoyage_talk:Region_article_template#How_many_is_nine. for an example. If Washington needs a different nine, it's reasonable to change the list, but considered polite to discuss on the appropriate talk page first. -- (WT-en) Jonboy 10:22, 24 December 2006 (EST)
I would like to propose removing any suburb of Seattle (i.e. Bellevue) for other significant cities in more geographical scattered areas with a more diverse economy (i.e. Port Angeles). I don't find the need to have Bellevue listed when it is regarded as just greater Seattle by the average person. I'm sure a resident of Bellevue would disagree, but the whole purpose of Wikivoyage is to inform the user and to become a credible destination guide for non-residents. Does this sound reasonable?
