Gainesville listings

[edit]

Gainesville is plenty big enough to have local flavor, so it is completely unnecessary to list run-of-the-mill crap like Cici's Pizza, Wal-mart, and Payless Shoes. I have given a shot at the Eat section to show you more what we are looking for-- local restaurants unique to the city or area. What I put there is just a start and could probably be expanded. Ideally, of course, we'd like to have complete address, phone, hours, websites, and descriptions for each too. The Buy section has just as much potential too-- I'm pretty sure Gainesville has enough locally owned shops, antique shops and local crafts that we don't need to recommend travellers go buy cheap trinkets at the dollar stores. Just ask yourself, what does this town have that other towns don't? (WT-en) Texugo 10:30, 7 June 2010 (EDT)

As an addendum to what Texugo said, it's fine to mention that the chains and big box stores exist, but there's no need to give them a full listing - if you've been to one Wal-Mart you know exactly what every other Wal-Mart is like, so we don't need to say much about it. See for example Culver City#Eat. -- (WT-en) Ryan (talk) 10:38, 7 June 2010 (EDT)
