Please STOP SHOUTING out the destination names, use First letter capitalized names, as even I, a non native speaker, know is the correct way to write names in English. Also, there is some additional comments about your recent edits..
  • Phrases like "'Experience the true meaning of hospitality and adventure...synonymous with breathtaking scenery" reads like promotional hyperbole, please try to avoid it - we are here to write about destinations we like, not to stuff it down people's throat. Check Tone and Words to avoid for more information.
  • Again, please stop shouting in the subheadings, listings like these should be formatted like "* Name blah"
  • Use ===Name=== for subheadings, not present in the standard template
  • All the template subheadings should be present in the articles
  • We strive to avoid being a yellow pages, long lists of businesses with no information attached is generally discouraged. Seeing a long list of names and telephone numbers is not going to help travellers choose a place to stay very much. See Project:Accommodation listings for more information.

Lynn you are getting into a pickle, and I would respectfully suggest you stop editing for a while and read all the links we have taken the trouble to post on this page. There is lots of help available here if you ask, but you must help yourself a bit by taking some time out to understand the way Wikivoyage does things.

At GRAHAMSTOWN you petulantly shouted for us to stop editing the article as you were working on it. There is already an article called Grahamstown, so why another called GRAHAMSTOWN? What's more, you even asked me today to revert the edits I have made at Grahamstown so you could put the errors right!. I did that as requested, but instead, you started working on a fresh article with a capitalised place name.

We really want your content, but please heed some advice and take the time to understand more about Wikivoyage presentation, formatting etc. It is all there in the links given above. Hey i am trying to get used to the formatiing but this is all a little confusing at times! I didnt see that u reverted the errors but i will go back and edit now as best i can. You can go ahead and delete the GRAHAMSTOWN page if you wish and i will work on Grahamstown. I am trying my best to get the hang of this. --User:(WT-en) Lynne

It can be confusing yes. If that is you who did all the work on Karoo without logging in, then that's a huge improvement and well done. Just a couple of small things. When insterting a url in a listing box, always include the http:// bit, otherwise they will not work. Also, best not write "Tel" inside a phone tag, rather just the number. It was me who worked on the Karoo page =) just didnt realise i hadnt logged in..thanks for all the help..iv read through all the info from the links above so that helped a lot! will be fixing the url's and phone numbers. Was actually gna ask you to have a look at it to check if its ok..but seems it is.

But please note that listings belong in city/town articles, while region articles should only have overview prose in each section, which should direct users to the appropriate city article for various attractions, activities, dining, etc. For a good example of how a region article should look, I recommend looking at one of our star articles: Bali. Sunshine Coast (South Africa)‎

No listings should be added to region articles but only to city and other destinations articles. It is really a waste of your time to add all these listings to Sunshine Coast (South Africa)‎ as they will eventually have to go, (WT-en) ClausHansen 09:20, 24 February 2010 (EST)

Thing is that i didnt create the article from scratch, i just had to add onto opne that was partially done. As the Sunshine Coast forms part of the Cacadu district, it has its own listings of things to do, see and places to stay. If i had done the article from scratch i wouldnt have made it a regional article. I do understand however that the Sunshine Coast is a region but i do have specific listing that must be added as it is part of the Cacadu district municipality. Like i have explained before Cacadu conprises of 7 regions or as we call them - '7 wonders'. Each of these regions need to have their own page. What do i do about lisitngs then? Lynne
The listings should be put in the article for the city/town/other destination where the attractions/activity/restaurant etc is located. If no article exists for that place, either create one, or if the place is too small to have its own article (typically because it does not have a hotel) then put the listing in the nearest larger city/town/other destination which does have an article. In any case, region articles should not have detailed listings but only overviews (see Project:Region_article_template), and the Sunshine Coast is a region and could not be created as anything else

I do understand but according to the way we categorise the Cacadu district here in the Eastern Cape i have to look at the Sunshine Coast as 1 place even though it is compirsed of many. Thats just how the 7 nodes of the district are divided and i have to create the sunshine coast as a place on it's own coz that as a whole is a tourist destination and therefore all the listings need to fall under the Sunshine Coast..thats just the way Cacadu is divide up... Lynne ps..how do i put a time stamp and user name in?

On regional assignations and structure. Unless you propose to change the existing Wikivoyage regional structure, then you should use it. If you do wish to change it, then that should first be discussed on the relevant region article talk page. If after discussion a concensus is reached, then the structure is changed (this is sometimes very fiddly). In the meantime, please work within the confines of the existing structure.--(WT-en) Burmesedays 02:39, 25 February 2010 (EST)

hey guys..could someone please give me 1 or 2 examples of regional articles (one that i should want my sunshine coast article to be like) remember that the Sunshine Coast stretches from the one side of the Eastern Cape to the other so the places are'nt next to eachother. Duplicate listings

Hi. Thanks for your contributions and your patience in learning the ropes here. I'd just like to point out that we try to avoid all duplicate listings. I notice, for example, that St Frances and Jeffreys Bay have identical listings for horse riding options. Each listing should only be in one article, preferably based on its street address. The same goes for some other types of listings that I have seen duplicated between some of these South African destinations you are working on. Also, I notice the entire block of introductory text for the horse riding section is copied verbatim as well, and we don't want to reproduce blocks of text in multiple articles either.(WT-en) Texugo 09:39, 25 February 2010 (EST)

I've removed the duplicated listings. Also the thing that says that the articls or section dsnt suit the wikivoyage style, does that apply to the entire article or just the eat section? coz i didnt add that section it was already there and i was actually considering deleting most of it. Should i just delelte it or will it get fixed? Then with regards to adding section headings, someone added it to my Addo page so i just copied it from there, but no worries il just put it under the contact section. And then is it ok if i put a section saying Cacadu on the Eastern Cape page so that its known that they all fall under one category. Where can i add it on each of my pages then?--(WT-en) Lynne 10:08, 25 February 2010 (EST)
As for the Eat section, I put the style tag because we typically organize them into Budget, Mid-range, and Splurge, rather than by cuisine type. You obviously know the area pretty well, so feel free to delete and replace whatever you feel necessary. Nearby destinations are supposed to go in the Get out sections, where I keep putting them. We don't really do categories for this kind of thing especially since Cacadu district isn't currently part of our hierarchy, so I'd say worry more about what's nearby than what's "in the same category". Also, please don't remove the link to Eastern Cape from the first line of each article- you've been replacing it with "Cacadu District" which is outside the current hierarchy, leaving it without a link to the next step up.
