Add topicHello! Welcome to Wikivoyage. Please take a sec to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. More work on Paris and covering small villages would be such a great contribution-- I love having even a little info to go on about out-of-the-way places that don't make it into the "other" guides. Even just a name and location is a good start-- you'll be surprised how quickly others start to add to it. Oh, and by the way, where did you hear of Wikivoyage? I've decided that's a fun thing to find out since we get people from all over the world. Thanks! --(WT-en) Majnoona 11:16, 21 Jul 2004 (EDT)
I've started collecting information from home (restaurants, etc in the fourteenth arrondissement -- bohemian after bohemian became bourgeois!). Unfortunately, the small villages start getting a bit fuzzy. I'm going to try and go back in time with the photos. Frankly, I forget how I heard of Wikivoyage, but I've been telling my friends what I've been editing (and they've been contributing, although anonymously for now). By the way, is this all I need to do to reply? -- (WT-en) Tinfoiled 06:34, 11 Aug 2004 (EDT)
- Thanks for putting up that restaurant review in the 5th, please keep 'em coming. As you can tell (WT-en) Allegra and I are barnstorming through Paris on our month of vacation here, so we've done a lot more in the 5th now. Feel free to totally ignore the suggested listings which don't have reviews. Actually I guess delete them even if they sit empty too long, and there are places you can write about. I'm going to make a stub for the 14th also; somebody, I think it was User:(WT-en) Quirk switched us from neighborhood names to arrondissements, and I figured we might as well go for it since it makes map-making, and addresses and stuff easier anyhow. -- (WT-en) Mark 07:03, 9 Sep 2004 (EDT)
Thanks!
[edit]Hey! Thanks for doing the fact checking on the airport shuttles. Not a lot of people are willing to research stuff in that kind of detail, and we really super appreciate it!
While I've got your attention, do you think you help could flesh the Eat section of Paris out a bit? I'm veggie, so I don't have much to say about a lot of traditional French cooking, Canard ? Non merci. ;)
What I've been thinking about doing with the section is writing up a bit about my perception that there's been a bit of a revolution in the Parisien restaurant scene (as opposed to French Cooking) in the last couple of years, with more fusion dishes, and a slightly more veggie-friendly attitude.
Anyhow, I guess more-complete coverage of french cooking should go on France anyhow, or maybe Lyon. -- (WT-en) Mark 03:42, 13 Sep 2004 (EDT)
