Hello, Tristan Thomas! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Project:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. --(WT-en) Burmesedays 02:26, 7 January 2010 (EST)
- I have been watching your sandbox development of (WT-en) Costwold Water Park. Very nice work Tristan and well written. I know the CWP a bit myself from years ago. I am wondering quite how it will fit in to the Wikivoyage hierachy. Do you have anything in mind? --(WT-en) Burmesedays 02:26, 7 January 2010 (EST)
- Not sure atm, but I think it is pretty much a region article? I would be interested in thoughts. (WT-en) Tristan Thomas 17:33, 20 January 2010 (EST)
- Thanks for the reply. Don't worry about the delay :). The CWP has the scope of a region but does not really fit into the hierachy as we use counties as the lowest level region in England. Let me garner some opinion from others. My feeling is that this should be a specific travel topic, unless there is a neater solution. Watch this space. Cheers. --(WT-en) Burmesedays 05:59, 21 January 2010 (EST)
- There's no strong consensus as of yet. Navajo Nation is an example of a precedent for using a region template for a distinct but extra-hierarchical region that overlaps the regions that are part of the hierarchy. I would say, if it looks like a region, and walks like a region, you might as well use the region template. If it doesn't fit into the hierarchy, so be it; but make sure you provide plenty of links to the actual hierarchical regions. (WT-en) LtPowers 10:30, 21 January 2010 (EST)
- I should also add that you should try to avoid duplicating content that would properly go in our Wiltshire and Gloucestershire guides. (WT-en) LtPowers 14:09, 21 January 2010 (EST)

- Excellent advice from LtPowers. On that basis, the breadcrumb trail should be IsPartOf|West_Country. I think that might work out quite well. --(WT-en) Burmesedays 20:39, 21 January 2010 (EST)
- OK, thank you. I'll do something like that. (WT-en) Tristan Thomas 04:17, 22 January 2010 (EST)
